Softball Has Four Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University softball team had four members land a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District Softball Team.

After strong seasons on the field and in the classroom, second baseman Kiera Mayer (SO), first baseman Mollie Pentz (JR), pitcher Sheridan Sullivan (SR), and outfielder Mallory Holcomb (SR) each earned the recognition for the Lady Cougars.

The Academic All-District® award is given to student-athletes with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average and at least one full year at their current institution. Individuals must have been nominated by their Sports Information Department, reached sophomore status academically, and played in at least 90% of the total games played by the team or started in at least 66%. Pitchers must have made at least 17 pitching appearances or thrown at least 25 innings.
