Owls land spot in IWLCA national preseason poll

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) released its annual ILWomen/IWLCA Division III national preseason poll today. Among the Top 25 picks was Kenyon College, which was slotted at No. 21.

The Owls are coming off one of the best seasons in program history. The 2023 campaign included a 18-2 record and a second straight North Coast Athletic Conference  (NCAC) regular-season championship. The Owls upended two nationally-ranked teams along the way, made it to the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament and wrapped things up with a No. 20 rank in the final IWLCA poll of the season.

In addition to those numbers, the 2023 Owls set program single-season marks for games won (18), consecutive games won (17), overall winning percentage (.900), goals (313), points (443), draw controls (305) and goals against average (7.34).

The 2024 version of the Owls, which will be steered by new head coach Angelica Gero, gets the season started Saturday, February 17 at John Carroll University.

The regular season ILWomen/IWLCA Division III polls are set to be released weekly at 11 a.m., beginning on Monday, February 26.
