Robinson named to ABCA All-Defensive Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. —  The 2024 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) NCAA Division III Region All-Defensive teams have been announced in all 10 ABCA regions. Among the nine players selected in Region 7 was Kenyon College outfielder Drew Robinson.

A recent graduate and the Owls’ center fielder, Robinson started 31 games for Kenyon before suffering a late-season injury that kept him out of postseason play. While patrolling the outfield grass, Robinson was perfect in 101 fielding chances, making 98 putouts and three assists without an error.

The Region All-Defensive teams were voted on by members of the ABCA and the process was led by the ABCA NCAA Division III All-America and Coach of the Year Committee.

Although Robinson’s well-deserved honor was based solely on defensive play, he also made significant impacts in the batter’s box and on the bases. In 123 at-bats, he posted a .325 average with a team-high 33 runs scored and 24 RBI. He had nine doubles, one home run and stole 22 bases in 23 attempts.

Robinson, a team captain who graduated in May with a degree in economics, left the program as the Owls’ all-time career leader in fielding percentage. Over the course of his three seasons, he was perfect (1.000) in 250 career chances. He also departed with 52 career stolen bases, a total that ranks third all-time in program history.
