Owls earn team, individual USILA academic honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) recently announced the 2024 Academic Team Awards and Scholar All-Americans, presented by Blatant Lacrosse.

Among the NCAA Division III winners, the Kenyon College Owls not only received the Academic Team award, but had a trio of seniors collect Scholar All-America accolades. That group included Jake Donaldson-Reid, Tucker Fulton and Joe Sikora.

In order to receive the USILA Academic Team Award, all members of a team that competed in the 2024 season had to combine for a 3.0 grade point average. Kenyon’s grade point average was 3.41 for the spring semester and 3.38 for the year, marking the fourth straight season the Owls earned the honor.

To be eligible for the Scholar All-America award, the USILA states that a student-athlete must be nominated by his coach and be a student with a senior year academic standing and a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. He will have behaved in a manner that brought credit to himself, his institution, and to college lacrosse both on and off the field. He must also be an All-American, a member of a North/South team, or an outstanding league or conference player.

Donaldson-Reid, a defensive midfielder, graduated with a degree in philosophy. On the field, he played in 18 games this past season and tallied 30 ground balls and 17 caused turnovers.

Fulton, also a defensive midfielder, tallied 24 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers in 19 games played. He graduated in May with degrees in economics and philosophy.

Siroka, a long-stick midfielder, led the Owls with 25 caused turnovers in 2024. He also scooped up 39 ground balls and managed a goal and three assists in 19 games played. He graduated a few weeks ago with a degree in political science.

All three of those Kenyon honorees also made the 2024 All-North Coast Athletic Conference Team.
