KCH Welcomes New Providers

Mount Vernon, Ohio – KCH is excited to welcome three new physicians to our team of qualified medical professionals.

Steven C. Reitz, MD, FACS  | General Surgery – Heartburn Treatment Center

Dr. Reitz recently joined our General Surgery team and is seeing patients. He has been practicing as a general surgeon for 14 years. He received his medical degree from the Medical University of Ohio at Toledo and completed his General Surgery internship and residency at Mount Carmel Health System. Dr. Reitz brings expanded advanced robotic services to KCH, and looks forward to practicing in a small, close-knit community and providing more personalized medical care. When he isn’t at work, Dr. Reitz travels to a new hiking spot or enjoys working on cars and going to car shows.

Leshitha Nuwan Pilapitiya, MD | Centerburg Family Medicine

Dr. P. (as his patients call him), has joined the Centerburg Family Medicine team and is now seeing patients. He has been practicing family medicine for about 15 years. He graduated from medical school at St. George’s University of Medicine and did his residency at Drexel University in Philadelphia, where he was a chief resident. Dr. P. is looking forward to practicing community medicine in our growing county. He is very passionate about preventive medicine and educating patients on living a healthy lifestyle to prevent and minimize illnesses in the future. Active play with his family is a highlight of Dr. P.’s day, and he enjoys traveling and cooking unique foods.

Michael L. Casteel, DPM, FACPM | Podiatric Medicine, Surgery

Dr. Casteel has joined the Podiatry team and is now seeing patients. He received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. At Northside Medical Center, Dr. Casteel had additional Podiatric Medicine and Surgery training in Reconstructive Rear Foot/Ankle Surgery Certification (PMSR w/RRA). He also had a fellowship in Podiatric Dermatology.  Dr. Casteel is a massive fan of film/TV scores and he plays piano and ethnic drums. When he is not working, he enjoys family time.
