Gather at the Otterbein Community Garden for a story followed by hands-on learning in the garden.
ADDRESS: 600 N Spring Road, Westerville, OH
DESCRIPTION: The garden is located near the Center for Equine Studies at Otterbein University on North Spring Road and can be accessed from the Heritage Middle School parking lot. To access by GPS, search by 390 N. Spring Road.
Topics will vary each week, including bees, butterflies, weeds, and composting.
Note: Children must be accompanied by an adult, and a waiver must be signed prior to participation. There are no restrooms at the garden. Caregivers and siblings can wait in a tent in the garden while registered children participate in activities.
Tips: Dress to make a mess. Bring a blanket, sunscreen, water, hat, gloves, or other outdoor comforts. There are no restrooms at the garden. If inclement weather poses a danger, this event will be cancelled without notice. Please seek shelter or visit the library.

July 29 & 30, 2021 The Knox County Fair Partnered with Frank Medley/ Get-A-Way Productions to bring the all new and exciting LIVE “Knox County Fair Musical Showcase” at the 2021 Knox County Fair. The Musical Showcase will be a great segment geared to introducing the audience to local musical acts who will bring their best to the Midway Stage. Genres of music will include but not limited to Country, Gospel, Bluegrass, Classic Rock, Jazz, Blues, Folk, Pop, 80’s Rock, Hard Rock, Americana. The Musical Showcase will feature many amazing local talents plus Friday night being headlined by Nashville’s very own Jess Kellie Adams.
The official local talent lineup and set times will be posted after July 1, 2021 (BUT LET ME TELL YOU IT IS AMAZING)

Mount Vernon Farmers Market @ Downtown Mount Vernon

One of Mount Vernon’s most popular
downtown activities resumes next month. The 2021 Mount Vernon
Farmers Market begins Saturday, May 1, on the Public Square from
9 a.m. to noon. The market will feature vendors offering locally
grown fruits and vegetables, fresh local honey, baked goods,
homemade candy, maple syrup, goat milk soap and more.
Shoppers aged 60 and older can receive vouchers on market days from the Knox County Task Force for
Older Adults. Seniors who reside in Knox County will be eligible to sign up on the square to receive
tokens to use at the market for fresh produce, herbs, and honey. Other incentive programs offered at
the market this year will include SNAP, Produce Perks, and the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program
(SFMNP). Stop by the market information booth for details on these incentive programs.
COVID-19 protocols will continue this year until further notice. All vendors will wear masks during the
market and shoppers are strongly encouraged to wear masks as well. Hand sanitizer will be available
throughout the market. Shoppers will be encouraged to keep social distance while selecting their items.
Parking will be available around the square and in nearby lots.
