Mount Vernon Farmers Market @ Downtown Mount Vernon

One of Mount Vernon’s most popular
downtown activities resumes next month. The 2021 Mount Vernon
Farmers Market begins Saturday, May 1, on the Public Square from
9 a.m. to noon. The market will feature vendors offering locally
grown fruits and vegetables, fresh local honey, baked goods,
homemade candy, maple syrup, goat milk soap and more.
Shoppers aged 60 and older can receive vouchers on market days from the Knox County Task Force for
Older Adults. Seniors who reside in Knox County will be eligible to sign up on the square to receive
tokens to use at the market for fresh produce, herbs, and honey. Other incentive programs offered at
the market this year will include SNAP, Produce Perks, and the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program
(SFMNP). Stop by the market information booth for details on these incentive programs.
COVID-19 protocols will continue this year until further notice. All vendors will wear masks during the
market and shoppers are strongly encouraged to wear masks as well. Hand sanitizer will be available
throughout the market. Shoppers will be encouraged to keep social distance while selecting their items.
Parking will be available around the square and in nearby lots.

If you’ve wondered what birdwatching is about, but can’t even see a bird in a pair of binoculars, this is for you. Bring your binoculars or use ours. We’ll teach you tricks to start or improve upon a fun hobby. Weather permitting, we’ll go on a short hike or ‘arm chair’ bird watch.

WonderBus Music & Arts Festival @ CAS

The WonderBus Music & Arts Festival in Columbus, is Central Ohio’s largest contemporary music festival.
After more than a year of no large scale concerts or music festivals in Columbus, across Ohio and throughout the United States, WonderBus returns August 28-29, 2021.
LIVE & PERFORMING IN PERSON
KESHA, Wilco, AJR and Grouplove headline this amazing lineup. Additional acts include Black Pumas, The Band CAMINO, The Knocks, Bob Moses, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Ritt Momney, Grandson and more.
The venue is The Lawn at CAS. CAS offers 54 acres of open-air, outdoor space to allow festivalgoers to comfortably spread out.

HFP Racing / Ariel-Foundation Park @ Ariel-Foundation Park

HFP Racing has partnered with the Ariel-Foundation Park and the City of Mount Vernon to bring this exciting new race to the HFP Racing schedule. You will be swimming in the calm and clear waters of Central Lake and then biking on the Ohio to Erie bike trail and the rolling hills in Knox County. The race finishes with a beautiful running tour of Ariel-Foundation Park. After the race take on the challenge of climbing the 280’ Rastin Observation Tower before heading into downtown Mount Vernon for lunch at the many options from Amato’s Wood Fired Pizza to the best Italian around at MAZZA’s Italian Restaurant.
