45th Annual Plymouth Fireman’s Festival @ Downtown Plymouth

Our 2021 Plymouth Fireman’s Festival and Chicken BBQ will be on Friday, August 6th & Saturday, August 7th. Bring the whole family and enjoy some of our famous Barbecue Chicken! Other food options will include Nathan’s Hotdogs, Bratwurst, pulled chicken, baked beans, potato salad, pasta salad, homemade pies, and more!
Mud Volleyball Tournament will run both days (first round is tentatively scheduled for 6pm Friday)! Drawing will be held on Wednesday, August 4th at 7:30pm.

Live entertainment in the beer garden both nights from 8pm to Midnight! Playing on Friday night, 99 to Main followed by Red Ball Jets on Saturday! Beer garden will be open 3pm to Midnight on Friday and Noon to Midnight on Saturday.
5K Run/Walk will be held on Friday evening at 7pm. Online registration forms can be found at www.plymouthtrackcc.org. See the ‘Plymouth Fireman’s Festival 5k Run/Walk’ event page for additional information.
Parade on Saturday at 7pm. Registration will be open till the time of the parade.

Mount Vernon Farmers Market @ Downtown Mount Vernon

One of Mount Vernon’s most popular
downtown activities resumes next month. The 2021 Mount Vernon
Farmers Market begins Saturday, May 1, on the Public Square from
9 a.m. to noon. The market will feature vendors offering locally
grown fruits and vegetables, fresh local honey, baked goods,
homemade candy, maple syrup, goat milk soap and more.
Shoppers aged 60 and older can receive vouchers on market days from the Knox County Task Force for
Older Adults. Seniors who reside in Knox County will be eligible to sign up on the square to receive
tokens to use at the market for fresh produce, herbs, and honey. Other incentive programs offered at
the market this year will include SNAP, Produce Perks, and the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program
(SFMNP). Stop by the market information booth for details on these incentive programs.
COVID-19 protocols will continue this year until further notice. All vendors will wear masks during the
market and shoppers are strongly encouraged to wear masks as well. Hand sanitizer will be available
throughout the market. Shoppers will be encouraged to keep social distance while selecting their items.
Parking will be available around the square and in nearby lots.

If you’ve wondered what birdwatching is about, but can’t even see a bird in a pair of binoculars, this is for you. Bring your binoculars or use ours. We’ll teach you tricks to start or improve upon a fun hobby. Weather permitting, we’ll go on a short hike or ‘arm chair’ bird watch.

at the Gambier Community Center. The program diverts electronic waste
from regional landfills and ensures recyclable aspects
of electronic devices

How do I get my free tacos? Each participating restaurant will have a fast food station for you to redeem the taco tickets attached to your wristband for a taco.
Where do I pick up all the items included with my ticket? At our pre-registration on Friday, 4/30 and day of event at check in.
Guided or Free Flowing? This is a free flowing event with 5+ restaurants serving delicious tacos & drink specials. This is a 21+ as we’ll have exclusive party stops as well.
Do I have to go to all the stops? No! We’ll share the map in advance of what signature tacos are offered, what drink specials, and more. You can pick which ones you like. All within walking distance.
What is this crawl like? Imagine a massive bar crawl but with Tacos. Food Crawl meets bar crawl that end up in an epic party.
Is this event 21+? Yes.
Advice: If you are coming in large groups, it may be difficult for you to get tables for anything 4+ without a wait. Please be flexible and order at the bar, grab a drink, and get your taco. Have fun, grab a drink, and let’s get Taco’d!
Dublin Irish Days 2021 @ Coffman Park

The Dublin Irish Festival is an annual festival celebrating all things Irish organized by the City of Dublin, Ohio. It takes place the first weekend in August and is the largest three-day Irish festival in the United States. While there will not be a full Festival in Coffman Park this summer, there will be city-wide celebrations of all things Irish during Dublin Irish Days, from Aug. 6 to 8. With an innovative format, Dublin Irish Days will celebrate the traditions of the Festival, while prioritizing the health and safety of participants.

Puppy Pawlooza @ Carpalley

Join us August 7th for our Puppy PAWLooza! This is a live music event raising money for a local 501c3 in Mt. Vernon, OH: Dogs of Knox Fund Inc. Their purpose is to provide the Knox County Animal Shelter with support in rescuing unwanted, abused, and neglected dogs and to provide for their medical needs so they will not be euthanized. Dogs of Knox Fund Inc. locates rescues for unwanted stray, neglected and abused dogs and assists in providing shelter, food and care for their needs until the dogs are placed in homes through adoption.
