Dickey Claims Shotput Title in First Day of Crossroads League Championships

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men’s track & field team competed in the Crossroads League Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Bethel University at the University of Notre Dame.

After the first day, the men’s team sits in seventh out of 10 teams with 24 points.

Top Performers

Kyler Dickey led the way as he claimed the outdoor conference championship in the shotput. Dickey had an “A” standard throw of 16.82 meters.

Erich Rhodeback advanced to the 110m hurdles finals with a Harris Family Track & Field Stadium record and A” standard time of 14.38 seconds. Terril Skinner placed second in the prelims with a time of 14.88 seconds. Jaden Haldeman and Connor Williams also advanced to the finals in the 110m hurdles. Haldeman placed fifth with a time of 15.28 seconds, and Williams placed sixth with a time of 15.41 seconds.

Bryce Wiles finished second in the 100m dash prelims. He advanced to finals with a time of 10.83 seconds.

Rhodeback and Liam Near advanced to the 200m dash finals. Rhodeback placed fifth overall with a time of 22.03 seconds. Near placed seventh with a time of 22.24 seconds.

What’s Next

MVNU will return to the Harris Family Track & Field Stadium tomorrow, May 6 for the final day of the Crossroads League Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Events start at 11:00am.
