The City of Mount Vernon will close Public Square to traffic beginning Wednesday 8/10 at 3pm in preparation for the 2022 Mount Vernon Music and Arts Festival. Crews will then close South Main Street gradually from the Square south, including Vine and Gambier Streets, to Ohio Avenue by 5pm Wednesday.
Vendors and concessionaires will begin moving in at 6pm Wednesday evening. Remaining vendors will begin moving in Thursday morning 8/11. The Festival officially opens at 5pm Thursday, but some food trucks will open for lunch on Thursday.
Main Street from Chestnut south to Ohio Avenue remains closed through the duration of the Festival, which ends Sunday 8/14 at 5pm.
Ohio Avenue, Gay Street, Mulberry Street and Chestnut Street will remain open to traffic. Please follow posted detour signs.
