Loudonville man killed in crash in Knox County

Mount Vernon – The Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating
a fatal traffic crash that occurred on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at approximately 8:15 PM, on
US Route 36 near milepost 21 in Monroe Township.


Kelly K. Bush, age 51, of Loudonville, Ohio, was operating a 1985 Harley Davidson
motorcycle eastbound on US Route 36. Sherrie Y. Shively, age 46, of Mount Vernon,
Ohio, was operating a 2008 Dodge Caravan westbound on US Route 36. Mr. Bush drove
left of center and struck Ms. Shively’s vehicle head-on.


Mr. Bush was pronounced deceased at the scene. Ms. Shively sustained minor injuries and
was treated at the scene. Mr. Bush was not wearing a helmet and Ms. Shively was wearing
her seatbelt. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this crash.


The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Knox County Sheriff’s
Office, Mount Vernon Police Department, Mount Vernon Fire/EMS, Fredericktown
Fire/EMS, Monroe Township Fire/EMS, and the Knox County Coroner’s Office.


The traffic crash remains under investigation by the Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State
Highway Patrol.
