Ashland BalloonFest Returns with Three Days of Family Fun

One of north central Ohio’s signature summer events is set to fill the skies once again as the annual Ashland BalloonFest returns to Freer Field this weekend.

The three-day festival features nearly 30 hot air balloons, with scheduled morning launches and evening balloon glows, weather permitting. Organizers expect thousands of visitors from across Ohio to attend the event.

In addition to the balloons, guests can enjoy live entertainment, food vendors, children’s activities, a classic car show, craft vendors and family-friendly attractions throughout the weekend.

Festival officials remind visitors that all balloon flights are weather dependent. Pilots evaluate wind speed, visibility and other conditions before every launch to ensure safety.

Now in its fourth decade, BalloonFest has become one of Ashland County’s largest annual events, drawing visitors from throughout the Midwest and providing a significant boost to local businesses and tourism.
