Road Closure – Morrow Co. SR 61

Road Closure – Morrow County – State Route (S.R.) 61 just south of Mt. Gilead is closed between S.R. 61 & 42  and S.R. 61 & 529 due to an overturned semi tanker carrying a highly flammable chemical. The accident is at S.R. 61 & C.R. 124, in front of Mooney’s Vet Clinic and crews are off loading the chemicals to another tanker and removing the wrecked semi. OSP, ODOT and Fire/Has-Mat crews estimate the road will be closed for several more hours while the scene is cleaned up. Once that is done ODOT crews will have to clean and treat the roadway with salt before opening the road.
They are rerouting truck traffic to 61 and 229 to Ashley to 42 and back to 61. Also detouring traffic at S.R. 61 & 529  west to Cardington to S.R. 42 and again back to 61 in Mt. Gilead. 
Please use alternate routes and trucks should on State Routes. 
Will try to up when road is reopened!
