MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. – For the third consecutive year, the No. 12 Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s volleyball team (25-8, 14-4 CL) is set to host the Opening Round of the NAIA Women’s Volleyball National Tournament.
MVNU officially punched its ticket to the National Tournament with its sweep of Marian University on Wednesday, November 12 to send it to the Crossroads League Championship game.
The Lady Cougars will face the University of Rio Grande Red Storm on Saturday, November 22 at 3:00 p.m. The Red Storm are coming off a 26-12 season (11-5 RSC) in which it made a run to the River States Conference title match before falling to IU Kokomo. The tournament berth for the Red Storm is the first in program history.
MVNU and Rio Grande played against each other previously this season on August 27 in Mount Vernon. The Lady Cougars walked away victoriously, winning the match in four sets.

Ticket prices for the opening round match are $15 for adults and $10 for kids and seniors.
The winner of Saturday’s match advances to Sioux City, Iowa, where final-site action will take place at the Tyson Events Center from December 3–9.
