Women’s Volleyball to Host NAIA National Tournament Opening Round against Indiana Tech

KANSAS, CITY, Mo. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s volleyball team found out where it will be playing and who it will be facing in the NAIA Volleyball National Tournament Opening Round on Monday, November 13.

After a tremendous season in which it placed second in the conference with a record of 30-7 and 14-4 in league play, MVNU has the privilege of hosting the Opening Round of the National Tournament in the confines of Ariel Arena. The 48-team event will begin with 24 NAIA Championship Opening Round matches at campus locations on Saturday, November 18. First serve is set for 7:00pm for MVNU.

MVNU clinched an automatic bid by making it to the Crossroads League Championship match after defeating Marian University in the semifinals. The birth for MVNU marks the fourth time that it has made the NAIA National Tournament in program history (2016, 2015, 2007).

As for the opponent, MVNU will host Indiana Tech from the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference. The Warriors were the regular season and conference tournament champions in the WHAC and finished the season with a record of 31-4. Indiana Tech has made the National Tournament six times in its program history, with its last appearance coming last season.
