Week 10 of High School Football pits rivals against each other

An exciting night of football is ahead for week 10 of the High School Football Season Friday.

Tonight at 6pm the Spearman Financial Services Sports Roundtable will kick off from East Knox with Tyler Mathias and Brian Gastin. The Devil Dog game will then be broadcasted live on 93.7FM and on the WMVO Facebook Page. The MOAC Championship is on the line in Sparta as Highland host Clear Fork on the WQIO Facebook Page and Centerburg host Fredericktown for the Freddieburg Trophy and a chance to win the KMAC outright.

In the Centerburg versus Fredericktown match up there could be a lot of ground work. The Freddies are led on the ground by Senior Teegan Ruhl who has rushed for 1,602 yards on the season and 22 rushing touchdowns. Kaid Carpenter has run for 436 yards and another 5 touchdowns. On defense the Freddies are led by Mason Hoeflich’s team high 80 tackles and Trevor Bellman’s tied for team high 2 interceptions.

The Trojans meanwhile have a two headed monster rushing as Tyler Johnson has run for 1,307 yards and 16 touchdowns including 6 last week. Johnson has also thrown for 15 touchdowns and 1,216 yards. Caylan LeMaster has run for over 1,000 yards for the Trojans and has been a force. With a win the Trojans win the KMAC outright if they lose and Danville wins the teams tie for the conference title.

In the Devil Dog game, which East Knox has won four straight times, the Blue Devils are trying to turn the tide. Danville is 7-2 and has just one loss in conference to Centerburg. Max Payne has run for 847 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground this year while Walker Weckesser has added 13 total touchdowns out of the quarterback spot. Another threat on both sides of the ball is Kaiden Colopy at receiver and defensive back.

Meanwhile the Bulldogs are trying to continue their winning ways in Devil Dog play. They are led by Carson Steinmetz who has nearly 600 yards receiving and running back Cole Delaughder who has 750 yards on the ground despite missing time this season.
