Two Lady Cougars Earn Player of the Week Honors

JACKSON, Mich. – Molly Galaszewski and Reagan Nuss of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s volleyball team took home the honors of Crossroads League Defender of the Week and Crossroads League Setter of the Week on Monday, August 21.

Nuss, who is a sophomore from Brownstown, Indiana, helped lead the team to a 4-0 record to start the season after taking down Carroll, Rocky Mountain, Bushnell, and Warner Pacific in the Big Sky Challenge. Nuss had 138 assists and averaged 12.55 assists per set. The sophomore had an impressive performance against Bushnell, finishing the match with a career-high 50 assists. The honor for Nuss is her first Crossroads League Player of the Week nod.

Galaszewski was also instrumental in MVNU’s hot start as she anchored the defense in Helena, Montana. The fifth-year senior from Medina, Ohio had 69 digs and averaged 6.27 digs per set. Galaszewski had a massive performance against Rocky Mountain, finishing the match with a career-high 33 digs.
