Centerburg at Fredericktown for the FreddyBurg Trophy

The Centerburg Trojans boasts a record of 8-1 and they are 6-0 in the KMAC going into Friday’s game on the road against Fredericktown. The Freddies are also 8-1 but their loss was in conference to Mount Gilead so they are 5-1 in the KMAC and a game back of the Trojans who have secured a share of the Knox Morrow Athletic Conference Championship.
If Fredericktown and Mount Gilead win they will share the conference title with the Trojans.
The Trojans have been a force all season leading the conference overall in offense and defense. The Trojans score over 42 points per game while allowing just over 12 points per game. The Freddies average 25 points per game while allowing 17 per contest.
The Freddies come in winners of 4 straight including a 33-18 win over Danville last week where, though they did allow some big plays,Gavin Toombs on offense made up for it subbing in at running back. Toombs ran for 58 yards and 4 touchdowns in the win but he’s also a top receiving threat averaging 35 receiving yards a game and totaling 3 touchdowns receiving. Quarterback Blake Sipes has thrown for 668 yards and 8 touchdowns while rushing for 927 yards and 5 scores. Cirk Parker has rushed for nearly 500 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. The Freddies have been without the top returner and one of the top overall players in the KMAC, Brode Davis, as he will be out through the year due to an injury. Toombs leads the KMAC in sacks as well at 10.5.
Centerburg meanwhile has their own threats. Quarterback Blane Ball has thrown for nearly 1,100 yards and 13 touchdowns and run for 899 yards and 10 scores. Running back Miles Marshall has rushed for 1,218 yards and 19 rushing scores which is tops in the KMAC. Top receiving threats for the Trojans are Hayen Love who has 377 yards through the air and 6 touchdowns and big tight end Jackson Ballinger who has 4 touchdown catches to go with 368 yards throught the air.
Devil Dog Game as Danville host East Knox
Danville is 4-5, 2-4 KMAC and East Knox is 1-8, 1-5 KMAC

Danville comes into the game needing a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Blue Devils have lost two straight to the Trojans and Freddies. The Blue Devils are ranked 9th in the Division 7 Region 27 Computer Rankings and really can’t afford a loss to the 1-8 Bulldogs. Danville has won the last 3 Devil Dog games and leads the all time series 44-23-1 with the lone tie coming in 1961. The first Devil Dog game was in 1960 and members of those teams have been invited to partake in the coin toss on the field. Danville won 18 out of 19 Devil Dog games from 1999-2017. Danville is led by Cyren Wallace on the ground averaging nearly 8 yards a carry and 9 rushing touchdowns with 872 yards rushing. Chris Mosher leads the KMAC in tackles with 132 and Jacob Byers is 4th with 109. Quarterback Parker Proper has thrown for 659 yards and 7 touchdowns. Wesley Payne is tied for the conference lead in interceptions with 3.
East Knox meanhwile has the the worst rated offense and defense in the KMAC but they are not void of weapons on either side of the ball. Quarterback Jax Lester is the top passer in the KMAC with 1,678 yards passing on the season with a league high 19 touchdowns through the air. Receiving wise between Rush Beatty, Cason Faucett, Dakota Cooper and Logan Clark have totaled 112 receptions for 1,538 yards and 19 touchdowns on the season. Defensively the Bulldogs Caden Ridenour is second in the league in tackles with 121.
Mount Gilead vs Cardington
Mount Gilead is 8-1, 5-1 KMAC and Cardington is 3-6, 1-5 KMAC
Mount Gilead is having their best season in school history and if they can beat the Pirates and the Freddies beat the Trojans they will earn a share of the Knox Morrow Athletic Conference Championship. The Indians are coming off a 28-21 win over Loudonville. Their only loss was to Centerburg 46-0. The Indians allow the fewest yards per rush in the conference at 3.1 and will need to be stout against a good rushing attack with the Pirates. The Pirates allow 6.6 yards per rush on the year. The Indians have the top 6 players in the KMAC in tackles for loss on the season led by Cody Meimer’s 24. This game will pit the top two rushers up against each other as reigning KMAC Player of the Year Wyatt Denney leads the KMAC with 1,617 yards rushing on the year and is tied for second in touchdowns rushing with 15. Carson Barnum also has 15 rushing touchdowns for the Indians this season while running for 1,568 yards which is good for second in the KMAC. Denney meanwhile has 96 tackles on the year and Barnum has 11 tackles for loss.
Mount Vernon host Granville
Mount Vernon is tied for second in the LCL Buckeye with Licking Valley and needs a Watkins Memorial win over the Panthers Friday Night to earn a share of the conference title. The Jackets have also now slipped to number 11 in the Computer Rankings with Northland’s forfeit win over Beechcroft allowing them to leapfrog Mount Vernon. The Jackets are 6-3 and 3-1 in the conference. Granville comes in 6-3 also and 2-2 in the conference. Mount Vernon is led by Quarterback Mason Richards and a dominate offensive line. Richards has rushed for 1,249 yards this season and 19 rushing touchdowns and thrown for 696 yards this season.
