Track & Field Wraps Up Crossroads League Indoor Championships

UPLAND, Ind. —  The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men’s and women’s track & field teams competed in the Crossroads League Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Taylor University on February 14-15.

The men’s team placed sixth overall at the conference meet with a total of 33 points. Marian University won on the men’s side with 315 points, followed by Indiana Wesleyan University with 144. MVNU’s women finished seventh overall at the meet, tallying 45.5 points. Marian’s women won the meet with 248 points, followed by Indiana Wesleyan with 101.5 points.

Jaden Haldeman started strong for MVNU’s men, winning the 60m hurdle prelims with an NAIA B standard time of 8.14 seconds. In finals, Haldeman placed second overall and earned All-League honors with a time of 8.49.

Bryce Wiles placed second in the 60m dash prelims, hitting the NAIA B Standard in the event with a time of 6.82 seconds. Wiles ran in finals the following day and placed fourth overall with a time of 6.82. Chandler Hartman placed just outside the top three for MVNU in the shot put, placing fourth with a throw of 14.20m.

For the women, Lyssi Snouffer took home the conference crown in the high jump with an NAIA A Standard jump of 1.71m.

After a strong showing in prelims, Marissa Rutter placed third and earned All-League honors in the 60m hurdle finals with a time of 8.97 seconds.

Shyanne Moser earned All-League honors in shot put, placing third overall with a throw of 12.59m.

The women’s 4x800m relay team of Ashley Burgess, Ashley Yoder, Louisa Hallabrin, and Caitlyn Shipley placed fourth overall with a time of 9:48.78.

What’s Next

MVNU’s National Qualifiers will now prepare for the 2025 Indoor Track and Field National Championships at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center at Celebration Pointe in Gainesville, Florida on February 27-March 1.
