Three Owls earn All-Ohio accolades

GAMBIER, Ohio — The Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association’s (OCSA) release of the 2022 All-Ohio Teams revealed the Kenyon College women’s soccer team had three honorees. Sophomore Claudia Abram made the All-Ohio Team, while senior Leah Anderson and junior Sadie Gould made both the All-Ohio Team and the Academic All-Ohio Team.

Anderson, the Owls’ goalkeeper, was awarded a spot on the Academic All-Ohio First Team, as well as a spot on the All-Ohio Third Team. On the field this past season, Anderson started 16 games and produced a personal 7-5-4 record between the pipes. She made 76 saves and posted both a 1.01 goals against average and a 0.826 save percentage. Additionally, she authored six shutouts. In the classroom, Anderson is a double major in English and history. Her Academic All-Ohio honor was her second, after earning a spot on the 2021 Second Team.

Gould is also a double major, studying Spanish and psychology. She was selected to the Second Team on both the All-Ohio Team and the Academic All-Ohio Team. In competition this past season, Gould started all 17 games for the Owls and cranked out a team-leading six goals and 13 points from her midfield position. She also had one assist and three of her six goals went in the books as game-winners.

Abram, in her second season with the team, also started all 17 games. The Kenyon defender helped the team hold opponents to 18 goals, or an average of 1.06 goals per game, while racking up six shutouts. For her efforts, she earned a spot on the All-Ohio Second Team.
