Pettit Named to CoSIDA Academic All-America Team

AUSTIN, Texas. – Kylee Pettit of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University softball team added another accolade to her collection on Tuesday, June 6.

After wrapping up a tremendous career on and off the field for MVNU, Pettit was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team for the NAIA.

Pettit graduated with a degree in biology and sported a GPA of 3.77. The outfielder from North Vernon, Indiana batted .412 on the season and collected 77 hits for MVNU. Pettit scored 61 runs and stole 18 bases for MVNU. Pettit landed on the All-Crossroads League First Team and the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team for her play in 2023. The MVNU graduate also made the Crossroads League Gold Glove team in centerfield.

For her career, Pettit finished third in all-time batting average in MVNU softball history with an average of .408. Pettit was just one at bat short of the all-time spot for career at bats with 549 and finished second in career hits with 224. The centerfielder was third in career singles with 168 and was second in career triples with 28. Pettit is also MVNU softball’s all-time leader in runs scored and stolen bases with 169 and 54, respectively.
