Owls named one of AVCA’s top academic teams

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced today that the Kenyon College Owls earned the United States Marine Corps/AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2022 season. Even more impressive, the Owls were named to the Team Academic Honor Roll, awarded to the programs within the top-20 percent of grade point averages from each AVCA award division.

The Team Academic Award honors programs that displayed excellence in the classroom during the academic year by maintaining at least a 3.3 cumulative team grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

The 2022 Kenyon Owls, which had a roster of 17 players, posted an impressive 3.74 team grade point average. That mark not only gained the Owls the AVCA Team Academic Award, but also made them just one of 46 NCAA Division III teams to make the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll.

For six consecutive seasons now, the Kenyon Owls have won the AVCA Team Academic Award and, during that same span, four Kenyon teams, including the last two, made the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll.
