Ouellette gains All-America honor from GCAA

NORMAN, Okla. – The 2022 Division III PING All-America Teams have been announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America and Kenyon College first-year Armand Ouellette was listed among the honorable mention selections.

Ouellette had a remarkable debut for Kenyon. Throughout the 2021-22 schedule, he played 24 rounds and led the team with a 73.29 scoring average. He had six top-10 finishes, including five top-five showings and a win at the Irish Hills Invitational back in September.

One month ago, at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship, he placed fifth in a field of 45 and helped direct Kenyon to its first-ever conference title. At the conclusion of the meet, Ouellette was named an All-NCAC honoree, as well as the NCAC Newcomer of the Year and winner of the Dick Gordin Award for NCAC Player of the Year.

Following the strong performance at the conference level, Ouellette and the rest of the Kenyon team went on to compete at the NCAA Division III Tournament, where they placed 15th among 43 teams, the best finish in program history. Individually, Ouellette tallied a four-round score of 308 and placed 58th among the 221 golfers in the field.

While postseason play was still in full swing, Ouellette was named to the NCAA Division III PING All-Region team and was one of just seven players selected to the GCAA’s 2022 NCAA Division III All-Freshman Team.

Ouellette is now the third All-American in program history and the first since Ryan Muthiora earned the distinction following the 2018 season.
