Ollis Named an All-American for the First Time

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University softball team received exciting news from the NAIA on Wednesday, June 8.

The NAIA announced its 2022 All-Americans, and Kaycee Ollis‘ name made it on the Honorable Mention list. The accolade is Ollis’ first NAIA All-American honor, and MVNU softball’s first since Lori Brown in 1994.

Ollis had a monster season for the Lady Cougars at the catcher position, flashing a great glove behind the plate and a hot bat at it. Ollis led the team with a .428 batting average in 2022. Ollis also led the team with 56 RBI and 12 homeruns. Each of those totals were single season program records.

Ollis has taken home many accolades in her junior season. The Louisville, Ohio native earned a spot on the All-Crossroads League First Team as well as a spot on the NFCA All-Region team. The catcher also landed herself on the All-Crossroads League Gold Glove Team after displaying great defense behind the dish.
