No. 16 Women’s Volleyball Defeats Maple Leafs for 14th Consecutive Match

GOSHEN, Ind. – The No. 16 Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s volleyball team (12-4, 4-2 CL) raked away the Goshen College Maple Leafs (5-11, 1-5 CL) on the road on Saturday, September 20.

MVNU swept Goshen by dominant scores of 25-12, 25-10, and 25-12. MVNU hit .347 in the match and held the Maple Leafs to a hitting percentage of just -.014. Evelyn Brown had 11 kills and hit a red-hot .786 in the match. Brown had two assists and two digs. Morgan Schlabach followed Brown with nine kills, a .350 hitting percentage, and five digs. Reagan Nuss had 19 assists and four digs, while Jaelyn Tang had a match-high 11 digs.

The win for MVNU was its 14 consecutive against Goshen, with the Maple Leafs last win against the Lady Cougars dating back to 2018.

MVNU plays at Grace College on Wednesday, September 24. First serve from Winona Lake, Indiana is set for 6:00 p.m.
