MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. – The No. 12 Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s volleyball team (20-7, 11-4 CL) hosted Goshen College (7-21, 2-13 CL) on Senior Day in Ariel Arena on Saturday, October 25.
Prior to the match, MVNU honored its decorated senior class of Faith Maloney, Ashley Merrick, Reagan Nuss, Grace Pratt, and Jaelyn Tang. The class is responsible for 109 wins and counting and has helped guide the program to national tournament appearances in each of the last two seasons.
MVNU won for its seniors, picking up a sweep against the Maple Leafs by scores of 25-7, 25-13, and 25-16.
Morgan Schlabach led the Lady Cougars with 11 kills while hitting .350. Maloney had 10 kills a .381 hitting percentage. Libby Evanshine and Evelyn Brown each had five kills while hitting .625 in the match. Brown added five blocks at the net. Reagan Nuss had 28 kills and eight digs. Merrick and Tang each added six digs.
