MVNU has Nine NAIA Winter Scholar Athletes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The NAIA announced its winter sport Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes for Men’s and Women’s Basketball and Men’s and Women’s Bowling. Mount Vernon Nazarene University had nine athletes receive honors.

Hannah Vaughn (SR) was among 155 women’s bowling student-athletes from around the country honored for their achievements in the classroom.

Angela Roshak (JR), Emily Walker (JR), Hannah Logan (SO), Katie Sprang (JR), Madelyn Lawson (JR), and Peyton Davis (SR) were among 887 women’s basketball student-athletes from around the country honored for their achievements in the classroom.

Kade Ruegsegger (SR) and Trent Koning (SO) were among 572 men’s basketball student-athletes from around the country honored for their achievements in the classroom.

To be eligible for an NAIA Scholar-Athlete award, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale while attending one full year at their current institution.
