MVNU Athletics to Host Wendy’s Holiday Hoopla

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. – For the fifth straight year, MVNU Athletics will host the Wendy’s MVNUnited Holiday Hoopla, a two-day high school basketball invitational.

This year, 20 different men’s and women’s high school basketball teams from Michigan, West Virginia and Ohio will participate in 13 games on December 21-22.

“Wendy’s Holiday Hoopla is another great way that our athletic department can bring students and student-athletes to visit our great campus, see our facilities and see all that MVNU and the Mount Vernon community has to offer,” said Coordinator of Athletic Development, Paul McNeal. “We will have over 400 student-athletes, plus family members and friends seeing our campus, eating at our local restaurants, staying in our hotels and being a part of activities. We host OHSAA volleyball, women’s basketball and baseball yearly, and this is just another layer of the partnership we have with Knox County and beyond. We take great pride in blending great talent from Michigan, West Virginia, as well as Ohio to have a two-day event for the basketball enthusiast. “

Each person in attendance will receive a $2 gift card from Wendy’s of Mount Vernon on Main Street and Coshocton Avenue. $10 gets you a wrist-band for all day access to the games. Admission for senior citizens and students will be at a discounted price of $7.
