Men’s Track & Field Have Five Earn CoSIDA All-District Honors

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. – CoSIDA announced its Academic All-District Track & Field and Cross Country Teams and Mount Vernon Nazarene University had five members join the list of student athletes.

The 2023 Academic All-District Men’s Track & Field / Cross Country Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

MVNU’s academic honorees included sophomores Evan Hodkinson and Marcus Whaley, junior Micah Tuggle, and seniors Alex and Zach Jenney.

To receive the honor, an athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale, must have achieved sophomore status academically with at least one full year at their current institution.

Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 28.
