JACKSON, Mich. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene Universitymen’s soccer team had five members receive All-League Honors from Crossroads League on Monday, November 18.
Forward, Zach Bowser, received First-Team honors for his dominant offensive presence this season. The senior led the team in goals, accumulating 13. Bowser had four game-winning goals during the season. Bowser also helped the team with a total of four assists. Bowser’s 13 goals had him tied for second overall in the Crossroads League and his 30 points sat him fourth overall.
Aaron Jolly, a midfielder, received Honorable Mention for his offensive ability. Jolly helped lead the team on that end, finishing with five goals on the season. The senior also had five assists to lead the team.
Midfielder, Sam Hershey, received Honorable Mention honors for his contributions in the midfield. The fifth-year senior helped his fellow teammates find the back of the net, finishing with three assists.
Caio Carrara also received Honorable Mention recognition for his leading defensive presence for the Cougars. The senior anchored the MVNU backline and gave opposing offenses a tough time.
Lastly, Brayden Pierson received an Honorable Mention nod for his play between the posts. The freshman, having a leading role in the Cougars defensive efforts, had 63 saves (third in the league) and an 86.3 save percentage, which led the Crossroads. Pierson had an outstanding 0.93 goals against average, ranking him second in the league in 2024.
