Men’s Basketball: Three Players Receive All-League Honors

JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League has announced its postseason award winners and honors for men’s basketball on Wednesday morning, March 1. The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men’s team had three players receive honors.

Kade Ruegsegger was a Second Team All-Crossroads League selection for his outstanding play in 2022-2023. The junior from Dover, Ohio averaged a team-high 18.4 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game, and 2.8 assists per game.

Kyle Kegley also received Second Team All-Crossroads League recognition. The Mount Gilead, Ohio native led the team with 10.3 rebounds per game and was one of the most dangerous offensive weapons for the Cougars as he averaged 17.5 points per game. The senior also blocked 1.2 shots per game and had 24 steals on the season.

Trent Koning had a great rookie season for the Cougars and earned himself a spot on the Crossroads League’s All-Freshman Team. The redshirt freshman forced his way into being an impact player for head coach Jared Ronai this season and averaged 12.3 points per game across the final 10 games.
