Lemaster strikes out 15 as Centerburg picks up huge KMAC win

Centerburg and Cardington went with their best on the bump in Wednesday’s crucial KMAC clash. Those two are the top pitchers in the conference. Both teams came in with two losses in conference and Centerburg came out on top with a 2-1 win. The Trojans still have to finish a game with East Knox and play another game with the Bulldogs on Monday and Cardington takes on Northmor before the dust can settle. Centerburg hosts East Knox on May 12th. They will resume game 1 which is in the top of the 9th at 5pm and then start game 2 immediately after. With 2 wins Centerburg will be outright KMAC champs, with a split they will be co champs pending the results of Cardington vs Northmor on 5/12-5/13.

In Wednesday’s win Senior Daniel Lemaster and Cardington’s Wyatt Wade battled it out on the mound. Lemaster struck out 15. Wade struck out 8 and allowed just two unearned runs as the Pirates committed 3 errors. Lemaster went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run and it was earned on 5 hits. Ricky Faught got the final out.
