FULLERTON, Calif. – The No. 14 Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s volleyball team (2-2) concluded Summer Slam 2025, hosted by Hope International with a pair of matches on Saturday, August 23.
MVNU opened the day with No. 2 Bellevue University (Nebraska) (2-1). Bellevue came out strong from the start and never looked back, sweeping the match by scores of 25-15, 25-23 and 25-22. Libby Evanshine and Faith Maloney each led MVNU with seven kills. Maloney added three blocks. Jaeyln Tang had a team-high 13 digs. Reagan Nuss finished the match with 21 assists and 12 digs.
The Lady Cougars bounced back in a big way in their second match of the day as they swept Life Pacific (1-2) by scores of 25-14, 25-23, and 25-12. Maloney led the way again with 12 kills and Evelyn Brown followed with 10 of her own. Tang and Morgan Schlabach each had 10 digs for the Lady Cougars. Schlabach also had seven kills. Nuss had another solid match, finishing with 27 assists and four digs.

MVNU has its home opener in Ariel Arena on Wednesday, August 27 against the University of Rio Grande at 7:00 p.m.
