Lady Cougars Fall to No.3 Marian

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. — The Receiving Votes Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s volleyball team (13-2, 0-2) hosted No.3 Marian University (10-0, 2-0) in Ariel Arena on Wednesday, September 14.

MVNU battled the Knights of Marian hard, keeping each set within four points. MVNU fell by final scores of 25-21, 25-22, and 25-22 in the hard fought match.

Inside the Box Score

Ashley Stumperth led MVNU with 14 kills in the match. She had five digs as well.

Faith Maloney had nine kills to go with a hitting percentage of .300. Maloney had two blocks in the match.

Erica Gasser had eight kills. Gasser had a red hot hitting percentage of .467.

Paige Brenner had a match-high 34 assists. She had four digs and two kills.

Jaelyn Tang had a team-high 12 digs. Molly Galaszewski finished with nine digs of her own.

MVNU travels to Spring Arbor, Michigan for a match against Spring Arbor University. First serve is at 7:00pm.
