Lady Cougars Defeated at Huntington

HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s basketball team (8-15, 2-11) fell at Huntington University (12-11, 6-7) on Saturday, February 7.

Huntington started strong, opening the game on a 20-4 run. Huntington led the game from start to finish and would go onto win by a final of 76-59.

The Foresters shot 46% from the field and from three (12-26).

MVNU struggled offensively, hitting just 35% from the field and 27.8% (5-18) from three.

The Lady Cougars had 18 turnovers which led to 11 points for the hosts.

MVNU was outrebounded 43-31 and gave up 10 offensive rebounds.

Peyton Davis – 21 points (6-14 FG, 9-9 FT), 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals.

Grace Vermilya – 13 points (5-13 FG, 1-2 3PT, 2-2 FT), 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block.

Emily Walker – 8 points (3-5 FG, 2-2 3PT), 4 assists, 1 steal.
