DANVILLE AT CENTERBURG

The unbeaten Blue Devils are 7-0 and ranked number one in the official computer points released by the OHSAA Tuesday Afternoon. The Blue Devils took down Cardington Lincoln 61-21 last Friday. Senior Walker Weckesser threw for 135 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another. Senior Cole Delaughder a pair of touchdown runs on just 4 carries and Bryer Boeshart returned a punt for a touchdown in the win. Josh Byers had 10 tackles to lead the defense. They’ll take on a Centerburg team that has one three straight including a 28-11 win over Mount Gilead last week. Isaiah Sule ran for two scores and caught a touchdown pass in that victory for Centerburg, that game can be see on the WMVO Facebook Page Friday Night.

FREDERICKTOWN AT EAST KNOX

The East Knox Bulldogs faced a tough test last week with a road match up at Northmor and fell 27-6. The Bulldogs trailed 17-0 at the half. The lone score for the 4-3 Bulldogs came in the form of a 5 yard touchdown pass from Jaxon Lester to Caden Wengerd. The Bulldogs were led on the ground by Blake Elliott’s 116 yards on 18 carries.

Fredericktown meanwhile defeated Loudonville 28-14. Sophomore QB Blake Sipes threw for 197 yards and 3 touchdowns, two of them to Gavin Toombs and one to Grant Hartley. Sipes also ran for another 82 yards and a score.

MOUNT VERNON HOST MANSFIELD MADISON

The Mount Vernon Yellow Jackets are coming off a 35-28 win over Wooster on the road to snap a 5 game losing streak. Johnny Askew had a 1 yard touchdown and later gave the Jackets the 35-28 lead they wouldn’t relinquish with a 36 touchdown scamper. Mason Richards added a pair of touchdown runs (75 and 3 yards) and Mavrik Gregory had a two yard touchdown run. Richards ran for 148 yards and two scores and Askew added 69 yards on the ground for his two scores. Luke Mullins secured 18 tackles and 2 for loss in the victory.

Madison is winless but lost to 5-2 New Philadelphia 21-10 last week.
