The Centerburg Trojans won the Knox Morrow Athletic Conference and suffered one blemish in the regular season as they play at home Friday Night against Colonel Crawford in Division 6 Region 23 High School football Regional Semifinal Action.
The Trojans fell behind last week to Ridgewood when the Generals went down the field and scored on their first possession after forcing a three and out on the Trojans but Centerburg’s poise allowed them to come out on top in the game 28-14. Miles Marshall ran for 193 yards and 4 touchdowns in the win. The Trojans converted on a 49 yard pass on third and ten and Miles Marshall went in from 17 yards out to get the Trojans on the board and a two point conversion made it 8-7. Marshall increased the lead with a two yard touchdown run just into the second quarter. Ridgewood though wouldn’t go quietly scoring on a 70 yard pass play to tie the game at 14. Marshall added a 38 yard touchdown late in the second quarter and Centerburg led 20-14 at the break. After both teams went scoreless in the third Marshall added a 4 yard touchdown run with 10:28 to go in the game to give the Trojans a two possession lead they wouldn’t relinquish. The Trojans held the Generals to just 104 yards on the ground while running for 271 yards of their own.
The Trojans will play a Colonel Crawford team that took down Mount Gilead last week 42-8. Eagles wide receiver Parker Weithman caught 4 passes for 187 yards and three scores on the night. Quarterbacks Holt and Peyton Baker threw for 219 yards and the threw touchdowns to Weithman. Offensively, the Eagles piled up 359 yards of offense and held the Indians running game to 130 yards, well below its nearly 300 yards per game average.
11 seed Danville 7-5 at 2 seed Waterford 9-2 in Division 7 Region 27.

Danville meanwhile is on a heck of a run having destroyed their two opponents outscoring them 103-8 including a 59-8 win over Fisher Catholic last week. Freshman Parker Proper threw for 218 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win while fellow Freshman Briggs Wallace caught 5 passes for for 155 yards and a 61 yard score. Cyren Wallace rushed for touchdowns of 16 and 53 yards in the win. He also had a 2 yard rushing score in the win. Danville led 42-0 at half. Cyren Wallace finished with 115 yards rushing and three scores.
The Blue Devils will play at Waterford Friday. The Wildcats dumped Strasburg 42-7 last week. Hayden Jones rushed for 93 yards and caught three passes for 47 yards. He scored 3 total touchdowns. Trevin Zimmer, who finished with 106 yards on just nine carries, rushed for one TD and caught a pass for another.Quarterback Avery Pottmeyer threw incomplete passes on his first two attempts of the night then ended the night by connecting on 12 of his final 14 attempts for 182 yards.
