Kenyon trio tabbed NFHCA Scholars of Distinction

GENEVA, N.Y. — Last week, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) released its list of student-athletes who made the NFHCA National Academic Squad. This week, the organization released its list of those student-athletes, including three members of the Kenyon College field hockey team, recognized as Scholars of Distinction.

The trio of Owls included seniors Payton Doan and Lydia Turk, as well as first-year Lana Stone. They, along with nine teammates, made last week’s National Academic Squad for student-athletes who achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better through the first semester of the current academic year.

Doan, Turk and Stone advanced this week as Scholars of Distinction, an honor reserved for those who achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or better through the first semester of this academic year.
The announcement marks the second consecutive season that both Doan and Turk earned the prestigious honor.
