Kenyon trio named to All-Region roster

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The United Soccer Coaches released Tuesday the names of those student-athletes who made the organization’s 2023 NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer All-Region Teams. As part of Region VII, Kenyon College was represented by Aidan Burns, Alem Duratovic and Eamon Dujakovich.

All three of those honorees were named to the first team for Kenyon, which completed the season with a 16-4-1 record, a regular-season North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) championship and the program’s 10th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Burns, a senior, was previously named the NCAC Defensive Player of the Year. He anchored a Kenyon back line that allowed just 22 goals for a 1.04 goals against average. He also helped the unit yield to opponents an average of just 9.2 shots per game, while pitching 10 shutouts. Burns also contributed on the attack, scoring one goal and racking up a team-high five assists.

Up top, Duratovic was the leader of the Owls offense. The third-year player piled up team-highs of 12 goals and 26 points, outputs that also led all players in the conference. Five of his goals were game-winners and two of them were scored in a 2-0 win over Dominican University in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Duratovic, the 2023 NCAC Offensive Player of the Year, is now a two-time All-Region honoree, after being selected as a second-teamer following the 2022 season.

In between those two Kenyon players, Dujakovich, a junior, had a breakout season in the midfield. His 25 points included 11 goals and three assists and they were just one shy of Duratovic’s final tally. He, too, collected special recognition from the conference, being named the NCAC Midfielder of the Year. Like Burns, this was Dujakovich’s first spot on the All-Region roster.
