Kenyon men place four on All-Ohio Teams

GAMBIER, Ohio — The Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association recently released the names of those NCAA Division III student-athletes who made the 2023 All-Ohio men’s soccer teams. Among those student-athletes making the list were Kenyon College senior Aidan Burns, as well as juniors Alem Duratovic, Eamon Dujakovich and Matt Nguyen.

The All-Ohio selections were divided into three teams of 12 honorees. Burns, Duratovic and Dujakovich all earned spots among the first-team selections, while Nguyen was honored as a member of the third team. Together, that quartet played a large role in the Owls successful 2023 season that included a 16-4-1 overall record, a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) regular-season championship and an appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Burns and Nguyen were both part of a Kenyon defense that yielded just 22 goals in 21 games (1.04 GAA) and helped the defensive unit post a conference-best total of 10 shutouts. Both also got involved on offense, too, with Burns racking up a team-best five assists to go along with one goal and Nguyen contributing three goals. Following the season, Nguyen was named a second-team All-NCAC pick, while Burns made the first team and was voted the NCAC Defensive Player of the Year.

In addition to the athletic award, Burns, a biology major, made the 2023 Academic All-Ohio first team. That award came on the heels of him being recognized by College Sports Communicators as an Academic All-American.

On the other side of the field, Duratovic and Dujakovich led the Owls offense. The two ranked first and second on the team, as well as among all conference players, in goals and points. Duratovic was tops with 12 goals and 26 points, while Dujakovich finished a close second with 11 goals and 25 points.

Both Duratovic and Dujakovich were selected as 2023 All-NCAC first team picks. Duratovic was also named the NCAC Offensive Player of the Year, while Dujakovich was tabbed the NCAC Midfielder of the Year.
