Kenyon College Softball team earns National Recognition

LOUISVILLE, Ky.- The Kenyon College softball team earned national recognition for its academic excellence, placing among the top 100 teams in the 2024-25 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete Team GPA standings. The honor, announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA), highlights programs across all collegiate divisions that demonstrate strong commitment to success in the classroom as well as on the field. The NCAA Division III led the way with 2,565 student-athletes earning a 3.5 GPA average or higher for 2024-2025. NCAA Division I followed with 2,544 and NCAA Division II with 2,179. Junior Colleges and NAIA notched a margin of 895 and 1,010 student-athletes respectively.

Each year, the NFCA collects team GPA rankings based on data submitted by member head coaches. To be eligible, programs must sustain a collective GPA that reflects the Association’s standard of academic excellence, with many teams exceeding the 3.5 benchmark. This year’s list included more than 9,000 collegiate softball student-athletes nationwide who earned individual Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors, while team rankings recognized programs for their overall performance.

Kenyon’s placement among the top 100 is a testament to the dedication of its student-athletes, who balance a rigorous academic workload while maintaining the demands of competition on the field.
