Kenyon baseball earns ABCA academic award

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) recently announced its member institutions that earned the 2024 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award. Among the more than 470 collegiate programs to be recognized, the Kenyon College Owls were one of just 182 NCAA Division III programs to make the list.

To be eligible for the academic award, a team had to have a head coach that is a current ABCA member and had to have members of its 2024 roster combine for a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale. The Owls had no problem reaching that mark, as the 42 members of the 2024 team posted a combined 3.46 grade point average to give the program its seventh consecutive ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award.

In addition to their academic success, the 2024 Kenyon club racked up a 22-17 overall record, including an 8-8 mark in North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) action. Additionally, the Owls were one of just four teams to make the NCAC Tournament.
