The Mount Vernon Yellow Jackets and the Licking Valley Panthers face off for the top spot in the Licking County League Friday Night in Newark. The Jackets are coming off a home win over Licking Heights 42-13. Licking Valley beat Granville 35-14. Mount Vernon quarterback Mason Richards threw for 104 yards and three touchdowns. Sophomore Landon Dawson totaled three touchdowns on the night, two through the air and one on the ground. Richards has run for 1,181 yards on the season and 18 rushing scores and thrown for 654 yards and 9 touchdowns.
Licking Valley is coming off a 35-14 win over Granville. Quarterback Brody Rodgers threw for 111 yards and ran for 82 yards. Licking Valley established an early lead with running back Donevin Ghiloni scoring a 3-yard touchdown in the first quarter. Quarterback Brody Rodgers threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Braiden Barrows in the third quarter.
Mount Vernon is looking for their 6th straight win for the first time since 2003.
Centerburg 7-1 5-0 KMAC at 1-7 East Knox 1-4 KMAC
The Centerburg Trojans are coming off a 44-14 win over Danville last week that saw the team’s offense score at least 41 points for 6th consecutive game. Miles Marshall ran for 85 yards and a pair of scores. Blane Ball ran for 58 yards and a score in Centerburg’s win. The Trojans got a punt return for a score and interception return for a touchdown in the win. The Trojans were outgained on the ground by 34 yards. The Trojans are the top scoring team in the KMAC at over 40 points per game. East Knox is the worst scoring offense in the league at just over 19 points per game. Centerburg boasts the best defense and East Knox is second. The Bulldogs have the top passer in the KMAC in Jax Lester has thrown for a league high 1541 yards and 18 touchdowns. Marshall has 17 rushing touchdowns which leads the KMAC.

Cirk Parker had four rushing scores last week as Fredericktown defeated East Knox 28-19. They have won 3 straight. Fredericktown is 4th in the league with 24 points per game. They are the third ranked defense in KMAC. Blake Sipes has throw for 567 yards and 7 touchdowns while rushing for 100 yards a game and totaling 802 yards on the ground with 5 touchdowns. Parker has rushed for 10 touchdowns and 456 yards. Cy Wallace runs for 109 yards a game and has 9 rushing scores. Chris Mosher leads the KMAC in tackles with 119.
