MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men’s basketball team (13-12, 6-9 CL) defeated RV Bethel University (16-10, 8-8 CL) by a score of 108-90 on Wednesday evening, February 8 in Ariel Arena.
Both teams’ offenses were operating well all game and fans were treated to a high scoring affair. The Cougars had one of their best offensive nights of the season as they shot 61% (36-59) from the field and a whopping 65.2% (15-23) from three-point range. Up by seven at the half, the Cougars outscored the Pilots by 11 in the second half to seal the much-needed Crossroads League victory as the season winds down.

Kade Ruegsegger had a monster night as he led the team with a career-high 33 points, nine rebounds, and two assists.
Kyle Kegley was also key as the senior had 24 points and six rebounds.
Milton Gage had a double-double with 11 points and 11 assists. He also grabbed four boards.
TC Molk chipped in with 12 points, two rebounds, and two assists.
Clay Hilliard scored 11 points off the bench and had three rebounds.

The Cougars are back in action on Saturday, February 11 as they travel to Huntington University to take on the Foresters in a big Crossroads League showdown. Tip-off is at 3:00pm.
