High School Football Playoffs kick off Friday

Week 11 High School Football Playoff Previews
Danville vs McDonald at Mount Vernon
Danville is 10-0 and McDonald is 5-5
Danville defeated East Knox in the Devil Dog game 14-12 last week in very wet and muddy conditions. Walker Weckesser led the way with a 79 yards rushing and two rushing scores while Bryer Boeshart ran in the two point conversion. Weckesser finished with more than 150 total yards on offense. Danville comes into the postseason averaging 47 points per game. On defense last week Josh Byers led the way on defense with a 16 tackles and two for loss and Caleb Lucas also had 10 tackles and 2 for loss. Cody Ricketts totaled 12 tackles and two for loss. The last time Danville finished unbeaten in the regular season was 2015 and they went to the state final four.
Entering the playoffs the Blue Devils are led on offense by a dominate offensive line and the KMAC Player of the Year in Weckesser who comes in with 596 yards rushing and 13 rushing scores and has thrown for 1,179 yards and 14 touchdowns. His receiving threats are Nate Stephens with 5 receiving scores and Nate Stephens with two. The Blue Devils also have an explosive running back in Senior Cole Delaughder who has rushed for 1,121 yards and 18 scores this year.
McDonald comes in losers of two straight being outscored 68-14 in those last two regular season games.
6-4 East Knox at 5-5 Martins Ferry
East Knox was led by Jax Lester in the Devil Dog loss with 162 passing yards and two touchdowns while Bracen Davis had 7 catches for 104 yards and 2 scores. Leading rusher Blake Elliott only had 37 yards on the ground in the rough conditions but has been really good this year running for 1,136 yards and 14 touchdowns. Blake Elliott has been outstanding defensively with 134 total tackles.
Entering the playoffs the Bulldogs are averaging 23.3 point per game but allowing just 14.5 points per contest. On the outside Davis has 9 receiving touchdowns to go with 640 yards receiving and this season Lester has thrown for over 1,100 yards and 13 touchdowns and run for nearly 300 yards and 4 touchdowns.
The Bulldogs take on a Martins Ferry team that comes in having lost 3 straight games including 41-14 to Bellaire on Friday. They are just 1-4 at home this season.
5-5 Fredericktown at 9-1 Archbold
The Freddies come into the playoffs winners of two straight having beaten Centerburg 32-14 last week. They were led by a great rushing performance from Sophomore Quarterback Blake Sipes who ran for 242 yards and two touchdowns and threw for 62 yards and another two scores. Sipes is just 4 yards shy of 1,000 yards rushing entering the game and has also thrown for 931 yards this season. On defense Lane Warner has nearly 100 tackles to lead the defense and Cirk Parker has 91 tackles. Last year Fredericktown entered the playoffs as a 14 seed as well and lost at Pemberville Eastwood 49-7. Fredericktown’s last playoff win was in 2015.
Archbold’s only loss is to 10-0 Liberty Center. Coach Will Hartley of Fredericktown said they have all upper classman starting on both offense and defense and they’re big up front. They have scored at least 35 points in 7 of their 9 games this season.
