CLEVELAND — Playing a big role in her team’s offensive output throughout the season, and in particular the last two games, Kenyon College sophomore Maddie Garner was selected Monday as the North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for women’s lacrosse.
Garner helped the Ladies register an 18-8 win over the University of Mount Union and then a 16-5 win over previously unbeaten Allegheny College. She had three goals and two assists against Mount Union and three more goals and an assist against Allegheny, giving her a weekly total of nine points on six goals and three assists. She also won a dozen draws, scooped up seven ground balls and forced a turnover in those two games.
The Ladies are off to a 7-1 start to the season and Garner currently ranks second on the team with 21 points and 17 goals.
