GAMBIER, Ohio — The North Coast Athletic Conference announced Tuesday that Kenyon College senior Jennah Fadely was tabbed the Athlete of the Week. The award, the second career honor for Fadely, was based on her performance in the Total Performance Invitational.
Over the course of the three-day Invitational, held at Kenyon, Fadely chalked up six event wins and led the Owls to a team victory in the eight-team field.
In individual events, Fadely won the 200-yard individual medley (2:02.36) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.18) in times that easily cleared NCAA ‘B’ cuts. Her time in the individual medley was the second fastest in NCAA Division III this season and her backstroke mark was both a meet and pool record.
She posted another ‘B’ cut in the 200-yard breaststroke, as well as the second fastest time in Division III, however, had to settle for second place when teammate Gabrielle Wei took the event with a meet and pool record time.
In relay events, Fadely rang up four more wins, swimming legs on the 200- and 400-yard medleys, as well as on the 200- and 800-yard freestyles. Her efforts in the 200-yard freestyle relay led the Kenyon quad to a meet record time of 1:32.55, the fastest time in Division III.
