The East Knox Bulldogs are now 3-2 on the season after a 49-22 win over Cardington Lincoln this past Friday. Running back Blake Elliott broke his own school record with 304 yards on the ground to go with 5 rushing touchdowns in the win. Elliott had touchdown runs of 7, 25, 1, 5 and 4 yards in the win. Rush Beatty also had a 92 yard interception return for a touchdown. Cardington’s Kalin Briggs scored two touchdowns, including a 86-yard kickoff return in the loss to East Knox.
The Fredericktown Freddies knocked off Mount Gilead 14-12 in the homecoming game this past Friday. The Freddies improved to 3-2 with the win and 2-0 in the KMAC. Blake Sipes used his arm as he threw for 267 yards and a pair of touchdown passes one to Brode Davis (8 catches for 179 yards) and a 55 yarder to Dalton Lang in the win. Mount Gilead’s Cam Vickers ran 22 times for 113 yards and both of his team’s touchdowns in that loss to Fredericktown.
Northmor quarterback A.J. Bower put up 321 passing yards on 14 of 18 completions, throwing for five touchdowns and one interception in the Golden Knights 41-6 win over Danville to remain unbeaten. Cowin Becker was a dual threat, running it six times for 65 yards and a touchdown and catching it five times for 120 yards and two more scores. Jax Wenger added four catches for 89 yards and two touchdowns, while Bo Landin caught three for 88 yards and a score.
Centerburg defeated Loudonville 42-7 to move to 3-2 on the year. Ed Honabarger, the Loudonville Head Coach said the team dug themselves a hole, something he says has become an unfortunate theme. Centerburg’s Blane Ball had a pair of rushing touchdowns and a passing touchdown in the win and Miles Marshall ran in three scores for the Trojans.
The Mount Vernon Yellow Jackets picked up their first win of the season Friday 31-16 over Heath at home. The win snapped an 8 game losing streak for the Jackets and collected their first win of the Mark Weber era. The Jackets ran for 252 yards in the game. Mavrik Gregory led the charge by rushing for 86 yards and a touchdown. Jake Taylor, Aiden Kennedy and Dakota Stafford ran in scores for the Jackets.
