Elliott and Sipes run wild in KMAC wins

East Knox running back Blake Elliott ran for 302 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Bulldogs 34-0 win over winless Loudonville to open the KMAC slate with a victory. Jaxon Lester also threw for a score as East Knox improved to 2-2 on the season.

Blake Sipes rushed for 268 yards and 4 touchdowns and Elijah Roush ran for a pair of scores and 90 yards as Fredericktown improved to 2-2 with a win over Cardington 45-18. Roush added 8 tackles on defense in the win for the Freddies. The Freddies rushed for 459 yards in the win.

The Danville Blue Devils rushed for three touchdowns and came from behind to open up KMAC Play with a win over Mount Gilead 20-8. Aiden Burke ran for 104 yards and a score. Jacob Hackman and Josh Byers each ran for a score for the Blue Devils who collected 219 yards on the ground in the victory. Byers had 25 tackles on defense. Caleb Lucas added 15 tackles, one of 4 players with double digit tackles in the game.

Quarterback Sam Marasek ended with 73 passing yards, 119 rushing yards and three touchdowns, and running back Nana Owusu averaged six yards per carry on 126 total yards, finding the end zone three times as well as Johnstown shut out Mount Vernon 45-0. Johnstown totaled 312 yards rushing as a team.

Centerburg nearly knocked off Northmor but the Golden Knights opened the KMAC slate with a 34-26 win to stay unbeaten. It was another big night for Cowin Becker, who rushed for 186 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, and also picked up 145 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards. AJ Bower was another key player, throwing for 216 yards and three touchdowns.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Northmor was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 225 rushing yards. That’s the most rushing yards they’ve managed all season.
