Danville Softball wins State Championship!

Yesterday was a great night for Danville Softball as the #2 Team in the KMAC wins the State Championship against West Jefferson in the Akron Firestone Stadium.

The intense game stayed 0-0 for eight full innings, when Danville finally broke through in the top of the 9th to win 2-0.

Top Players in this game include star pitcher Addyson Bocock, who pitched all game, allowed only 4 hits, and got 15 strikeouts on the West Jefferson Roughriders. That’s over half of West Jefferson’s 27 Outs!

Another Star player is Morgan Hinkens. The catcher was involved in both of the offensive rallies Danville had. Her 9th inning triple deep left field scored the games first run, breaking the 8 inning tie.

And our final Star Player is Elizabeth John. After Hinkens’ Triple put Danville ahead 1-0, Elizabeth delivered another run putting them ahead 2-0.

Both of the teams’ pitchers were incredible at keeping the opposing team away from the bases. Each individual baserunner was so crucial to the game because the pitchers were not letting opportunities through. The pitching duel between Addy Bocock and West Jefferson Pitcher Jenna Mannon kept spectators on the edge of their seats for 8 whole innings.

Congratulations to the 2026 Danville Softball Team for this monumental achievement.
